
Bhubaneswar, 5 December (H.S.): A total of 56,49,524 students in Odisha are currently benefiting from the Midday Meal (MDM) programme, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond informed the State Assembly in response to a question raised by BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy.
The minister stated that the daily meal cost per student has been fixed at ₹11.15 in government and government-aided primary schools, while the cost is ₹14.74 per student in upper primary and high schools.
As per the official menu, rice and egg curry are served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; rice, soyabean curry, and a nutritious laddu are provided on Tuesdays and Saturdays; and on Thursdays, students receive rice, dalma, and a nutritious laddu.
Additionally, students who do not consume eggs are given fruits on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
