Bhubaneswar, 5 December (H.S.): The Odisha Government is set to overhaul the school curriculum from Classes 1 to 12 as part of comprehensive reforms aimed at strengthening the education sector. School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond informed the State Assembly of the move on Friday.

Replying to a query, the Minister stated that the existing curriculum across all schools under the School and Mass Education Department will be completely redesigned. The revision work is currently progressing in phases.

According to official sources, the state is likely to adopt the NCERT framework to ensure the new curriculum is aligned with national benchmarks and educational standards.

To facilitate the process, the government has constituted a high-level committee headed by Prof. Nityananda Pradhan, which will oversee the curriculum redesign for Classes 1 to 8. Further details on the framework for higher classes are expected to be finalized in subsequent stages.
