Bhubaneswar, 5 December (H.S.): Construction work for 620 new 5T schools is currently in progress across 24 districts of Odisha, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond informed the State Assembly on Friday while responding to a query from MLA Ramesh Behera.

The Minister stated that the government has already incurred an expenditure of ₹30,882 crore under the 5T school transformation initiative in these districts. He further informed the House that a total of 6,568 high schools have been transformed so far under the programme, though work in 28 schools is yet to commence.

Gond added that the government is taking necessary measures to initiate the pending projects and expedite completion of all ongoing works at the earliest.
