Guwahati, 04 December (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Assam on December 20 and 21 for a two-day tour, during which he will inaugurate major infrastructure projects and lay the foundation of a significant industrial unit.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired an important review meeting at the State Guest House in Koinadhora to finalise preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will formally inaugurate the new terminal building of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Borjhar. He will also unveil a statue of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi and address a public rally in Guwahati on the same day.

On December 21, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the proposed ammonia–urea project at Namrup in Dibrugarh district. The project, to be built at an estimated cost of around ₹11,000 crore, will have an annual production capacity of 12.7 metric tonnes of ammonia–urea.

The meeting at Koinadhora was attended by several state ministers and senior officials, who reviewed all aspects of the preparations. The Chief Minister instructed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the success of the Prime Minister’s two-day visit.------
