Tamulpur (Assam), 04 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday launched the cheque distribution ceremony under the ambitious Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA) for women of the Tamulpur Legislative Assembly constituency.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister said that women’s empowerment remains a firm commitment of the state government. He informed that cheque distribution under the MMUA scheme had already been completed in 44 constituencies prior to this programme.

At Tamulpur, over 35,000 women beneficiaries of Self-Help Groups received their initial financial assistance of ₹10,000 each, marking a significant boost to their entrepreneurship journey.

Expressing happiness over the rollout, Dr Sarma said that after Barhampur, Tamulpur too has celebrated a major milestone by extending support to thousands of “sisters”. He added that every empowered “Aai Matri” strengthens around 40 lakh families across the state, paving the way for a future rooted in hope, dignity and opportunity.---------
