Jammu, 4 December (H.S.): Northern Army Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, today reviewed the hinterland security grid and operational preparedness of forces deployed across the Kashmir Valley, with a focus on maintaining a secure and peaceful environment in the region.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on intelligence coordination, counter-terror measures, and joint response mechanisms being followed by the forces.
Officials updated him on the multi-layered surveillance network and the efforts being made to strengthen synergy among security agencies in view of evolving threat patterns.
The Army Commander interacted with officers and troops and praised their professionalism, discipline, and dedication while operating in difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions.
He appreciated their commitment to safeguarding the region and maintaining stability despite operational challenges.
The Northern Army Commander also stressed the importance of a proactive security approach, seamless coordination among agencies, and continuous improvement in drills to counter emerging threats.
He reiterated that the Army remains committed to protecting Jammu and Kashmir and supporting the aspirations of its people.
