Guwahati, 31 December (HS): Guwahati Police have arrested three thieves involved in mobile phone theft cases, while Dispur Police have apprehended a woman drug peddler along with heroin during separate operations in the city.

Police said on Wednesday that acting on a tip-off, a team from Panbazar Police Station conducted an operation and arrested the three persons involved in mobile phone thefts from the Panbazar area. The arrested accused have been identified as Vicky Sah (19), Salim Ali (28) and Prakash Kumar (30). Three stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

In another operation, Dispur Police, during an anti-drugs drive, arrested a woman drug trafficker identified as Sultana Parveen. Police seized 11.20 grams of heroin from her possession.

Separate cases have been registered in connection with both incidents, and police are carrying out detailed interrogation of all the arrested accused.---------
