
Guwahati, 31 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday launched the distribution of seed capital cheques under the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme for the Boko–Chaygaon Assembly constituency at a programme held at Gandhi Maidan in Boko.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the initiative is a major step towards women empowerment and self-reliance in the state. He noted that the event marked the 50th programme organised under the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme.
Under the scheme, a total of 33,861 women beneficiaries, including mothers, sisters and daughters from the constituency, were provided seed capital cheques of ₹10,000 each to support their entrepreneurial initiatives.
Dr Sarma said the objective of the scheme is to ensure that every woman in society becomes economically independent and serves as a source of inspiration for others. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening women-led entrepreneurship across Assam.---------
