Imphal, 03 December (HS): An active extortionist linked to the UNLF(K) outfit was arrested by security forces on Tuesday from Uripok Yambem Leikai in Imphal West district, police PRO informed today.

The arrested individual has been identified as 25-year-old Laishram Pronanjit Singh, also known as Jit or Thondonba, a resident of Sagolband Tera Loukrakpam Leikai. He was taken into custody during a coordinated operation carried out under Imphal Police Station.

Officials said that a mobile phone suspected to contain crucial information was recovered from his possession, and further investigation is underway to ascertain his recent activities and possible links in the extortion network.----------
