Bhubaneswar, 3 December (H.S.) : The Odisha government has procured 73.45 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the 2024–25 kharif season, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed the State Assembly on Wednesday.

Responding to a question raised by MLA Sidhant Mohapatra, the Minister said the government has released ₹16,895 crore towards the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and an additional ₹5,876 crore as input subsidy under the Samruddha Krushak Yojana. In total, ₹22,771 crore has been disbursed to farmers.

Patra further stated that the procurement process has been smooth, with no reports of malpractice by millers during the current season.
