Bhubaneswar, 3 December (H.S.) : To ensure smoother and more efficient paddy procurement across the state, the Odisha government has assigned mandi-related responsibilities to individual ministers for each district, Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra informed the State Assembly on Wednesday.
Minister Patra stated that a ministerial-level committee has been formed to strengthen coordination during the procurement process.
In addition, District Collectors will appoint one officer per mandi to monitor operations and report any issues promptly. These officers will submit regular reports to the respective District Collector, enabling closer supervision and timely intervention wherever necessary, he added.
The initiative is aimed at improving transparency, reducing bottlenecks, and ensuring that procurement targets are met efficiently across all districts.
