Lucknow, 3 Dec (HS):The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, is focusing on empowering divyangs (people with
disabilities) through a variety of initiatives, including the establishment of
cutting-edge rehabilitation centers in all divisional headquarters, improving
accessibility in government buildings, and providing digital and vocational
training. The government intends to provide full assistance, including medical,
educational, and psychological services, all under one roof, to assist those
with disabilities in entering the mainstream.
All 18 divisional
headquarters will have new centers developed. Existing centers will be
improved, and new ones will be established in underserved areas, ideally within
government hospitals, to provide integrated medical treatment. These clinics
will offer a variety of services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy,
psychiatric counseling, and vocational training.
In a post on X, he
remarked, “With the spirit of
'service to man - service to Narayan' @UPGovt is continuously working for divyangjans
and their upliftment, self-reliance, and positive change in their lives.
International Day of Persons with Disabilities inspires us all to build a
strong, inclusive, and sensitive society. Let us all commit to the welfare,
respect, and equal opportunities for all persons with disabilities.”
