Guwahati, 03 December (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday paid rich tributes to Rameshwar Pathak, the legendary exponent of Kamrupi folk songs, on his remembrance day.

In his social media message, the Chief Minister said that every folk rendition by Pathak reflects an invaluable part of Assam’s cultural heritage. He added that Pathak’s unparalleled contributions to Assamese folk music would continue to be cherished and celebrated by future generations.

Dr. Sarma further noted that on the revered artiste’s remembrance day, he offers heartfelt homage from the deepest corner of his heart.----------
