Chennai, 25 December (H.S.) : The district administration has announced a temporary ban on the operation of drones and other Unmanned Aerial Vehicles ahead of Chief Minister MK Stalin’s scheduled visit to the district on Friday.

District Collector MS Prasanth issued the order on Wednesday, citing security protocols for the high profile event. The Chief Minister is set to visit the region to officially inaugurate the newly constructed Integrated Collectorate complex located at Veeracholapuram. The prohibition is part of an extensive security blanket being thrown over the district to ensure a glitch free program.

According to the official itinerary, the Chief Minister will be traveling to the venue by road. His convoy is expected to pass through the Ulundurpet toll plaza before reaching the function site. District Collector MS Prasanth stated that the ban is essential to facilitate the smooth and safe movement of the convoy and to prevent any unauthorized aerial activity that could pose a safety risk.

The restricted zones include several key areas such as Ulundurpet, Veeracholapuram, and Emapper, along with other locations falling within the jurisdictional limits of Kallakurichi district.

The administrative authorities clarified that the prohibition will remain in force throughout December 25 and 26, covering the entire duration of the visit. This measure applies to all private individuals and organizations, and any violation of these orders will lead to strict legal action under the relevant sections of the law.

Security personnel have been deployed in large numbers across the specified routes, and surveillance has been intensified. The district administration has urged the general public to cooperate with the security arrangements to ensure the successful completion of the developmental inauguration ceremony.
