Bareilly, 21 Dec (HS): Two men were killed and

another critically injured after a speeding vehicle collided with their

motorbike on the Bareilly-Pilibhit highway here on Sunday, police said. The

tragedy occurred late Saturday night in Sithra village, which is part of the

Hafizganj police station area. According to authorities, the victims were

returning to their village after work when a vehicle from Nawabganj crashed

into their bike. Police identified the victims as Prempal (31) and Sunil Kumar

(17), both from Ajitdandi village in Pilibhit district. The wounded, Gopal

(18), was brought to a community health center before being transferred to the

district hospital and then to a private institution. His health remains serious.

The

remains were submitted for a post-mortem and returned to the relatives on

Sunday, police said. The truck driver fled the site of the collision. A search

is ongoing, and CCTV video from the vicinity is being analyzed to locate the vehicle,

Hafizganj station in-charge Praveen Solanki said.
