
Pratapgarh, 21 Dec (HS): On Sunday, police claimed
a man reportedly attempted to rape a nine-year-old girl in Pratapgarh's Udaidih
market. When bystanders heard the girl's calls for aid, they raced to the
scene, forcing the guy to leave on Saturday evening. Police have created
various teams to conduct a search for him, according to reports. A case was
filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the
Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Manoj Raghuvanshi,
Deputy Superintendent of Police in Patti, stated that the event occurred when
the girl went out to relieve herself.
Javed,
a 28-year-old market resident, is accused of stopping the kid and attempting
rape. Locals raced to the scene after hearing the girl's screams for rescue. A
police team arrived at the scene to gather information, and a FIR was filed in
response to a formal complaint submitted by the victim's family, he added.
