Kanpur,
21 Dec (HS): “The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT) has played a
significant role in shaping our personalities and lives. I am extremely proud
of my batchmates for coming together to support initiatives that will directly
impact the academic, cultural, and emotional well-being of students. This
collective commitment reflects the sense of responsibility and gratitude that
IIT Kanpur alumni carry with them throughout their lives,” said Prof. Manindra
Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur on Sunday.
On
this occasion, the 1986 batch of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT)
announced a collective financial commitment of Rs. 11 crore to support three
major legacy projects on the institute's campus to mark its 40th anniversary.
The reunion was held from December 18 to 21, where alumni from across the world
gathered to reconnect with their alma mater, celebrate a shared journey of four
decades and make meaningful contributions to the future of IIT Kanpur.
The
announced funds will be used to fund three Batch legacy initiatives on campus
related to student life, mental health, and community engagement. These include
the construction of the SAC Extension Auditorium, the Mental Health and
Wellness Center, and a tower in the new dormitory. Together, these projects
reflect Batch's long-term commitment to improving the student experience,
strengthening institutional infrastructure, and developing a supportive and
responsive campus environment.

Kanpur, said, The 1986 batch has set an excellent example of alumni
