Guwahati, 02 December (HS): Garachuk Police in Guwahati arrested a man for his alleged involvement in circulating counterfeit currency. Acting on a tip-off, a team from Garachuk Police Station intercepted a motorcycle (AS-01Y-7837) near Boragaon and detained the suspect.

During the search, police recovered fake Indian currency worth ₹10 lakh from his possession. The arrested individual has been identified as Shantanu Talukdar (48), a resident of Gakhir Chowk, Boragaon.

Police have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings. Further investigation is underway to identify others possibly linked to the racket.---------
