Agartala, 02 December (HS): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced a new stoppage for the Agartala–Silchar–Agartala Express at Pencharthal (PEC) Railway Station in Tripura, further boosting regional connectivity and easing travel for passengers.

The inaugural ceremony was held at Pencharthal Railway Station in the presence of Santana Chakma, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Government of Tripura, along with senior railway officials.

As per the revised schedule, Train No. 15663 (Agartala–Silchar) will arrive at Pencharthal at 14:01 hrs and depart at 14:03 hrs, while Train No. 15664 (Silchar–Agartala) will halt at 13:13 hrs and depart at 13:15 hrs.

NFR officials said the new halt would significantly improve access to rail services for passengers of North Tripura and adjoining regions, offering smoother and more convenient travel options.

With this addition, NFR reiterated its commitment to enhancing passenger amenities, strengthening regional rail networks and supporting overall development across the Northeast.---------
