Siliguri, 2 December (H.S.)

Saddam Hussain (30), a resident of Siliguri’s Dangipada area, was found dead under mysterious circumstances late Monday night. His blood-soaked body was discovered near the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das flyover around 1 a.m. by a patrol van of the Anti-Crime Wing of Siliguri Police Station. He was immediately taken to the district hospital.

Based on Saddam's mobile phone and documents, the police informed his family. On information, family members, relatives, and locals rushed to the police station. According to family members, Saddam had attended a wedding and was returning home around midnight. The family said he was in perfect health. He also has a young child. The news of his death has cast a pall of gloom over the area. On Tuesday, the body was sent to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The police have begun examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
