
Varanasi, 2 Dec (HS): A group of students from
Tamil Nadu, who came to Kashi to participate in the fourth edition of the Kashi
Tamil Sangamam, visited the
Sri Kashi Vishwanath temple on Tuesday afternoon. The group was welcomed with a
shower of flowers. After the ritualistic darshan and puja at the temple, the
216-member group toured the temple. The group was delighted to see the grand
and expanded form of the temple. After partaking of the prasad at the Mother
Annapurna kitchen, the group posed for a group photo with full faith and joy at
the Ganga Dwar of the temple. From the Dham, the group will board a large
luxury cruise and proceed to Namo Ghat. After participating in the inaugural
ceremony of the Kashi Tamil Sangam, the group will then board the cruise and
travel down the Ganga to Assi and Dashashwamedh Ghats. The group will also
witness the spectacular Ganga Aarti on board the cruise. During this time, the
Tamil students will be briefed on the historical and cultural significance of
the Ganga banks.
According to the information
given by the nodal agency of the program, from Ravidas Ghat the team will
return by bus to the hotel located in the cantonment area. After night rest the
team will go to Hanuman Ghat on the next day, Wednesday. Here after bathing in
the Ganga, the team will visit the residence of Tamil Nadu's great poet
Subramanya Bharati located at Hanuman Ghat. They will also visit Kanchi Math.
Here after breakfast at Sanskar Math, the team will go to BHU campus. After
participating in various programs here, the team will also visit the historical
Sarnath. After watching the light and sound show here, the team will leave for
Prayagraj and Ayodhya the next day.
