
Varanasi, 2 Dec (HS): The fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam will kick off with grand
celebrations at Namoghat in the holy city of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday
evening. Preparations for the event are complete, and the first batch from
Tamil Nadu has arrived in Kashi to participate in the inaugural ceremony. Upon
disembarking from a special train at Varanasi Railway Station, the Tamil
contingent was greeted with the beats of drums, chants of Har Har
Mahadev, and a shower of flowers.
The local BJP District President and MLC, Hansraj
Vishwakarma, along with representatives from organizations involved in
organizing the event, were present at the station to welcome the 216 Tamil
students. The Tamil students were extremely excited and overwhelmed by the
traditional hospitality and grand welcome of Kashi. Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Tamil Nadu Governor
R.N. Ravi, and several other distinguished guests will be present at the
inaugural ceremony of the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangam.
The theme of this event, which culturally connects
North and South India, is Tamil Karkalam, meaning Learn
Tamil. More than 1,400 delegates from Tamil Nadu are arriving in Kashi
for this event. Traditional artists from Kashi and Tamil Nadu will present a
joint performance, presenting a wonderful fusion of Indian culture.
Delegates' Kashi
tour program: The first batch of Tamil Sangamam 4.0 delegates will first arrive
at Hanuman Ghat, where they will bathe in the Ganges, visit temples associated
with South Indian tradition, and gain historical information. Afterward, the
delegates will visit Baba Vishwanath at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham and receive
prasad at Maa Annapurna Rasoi. All delegates will then be taken to BHU, where
they will participate in academic programs and visit various important sites on
the university campus.
