tragic road accident occurred on the Fulwaria bypass of Balrampur city in Uttar

Pradesh early Tuesday morning. At around 2:15 am, a private passenger bus going

from Sonauli to Delhi collided head-on with a cargo truck. The collision was so

severe that the bus went out of control, overturned on the roadside and within

no time it turned into ball of fire. On receiving the information, a heavy

police force and fire brigade team led by Superintendent of Police Balrampur

reached the spot and the injured passengers were taken to the hospital. Giving

information about the incident, the SP gave necessary instructions.

According to the information received, bus number UP22 AT 0245 was going

from Sonauli to Delhi. Near Fulwaria intersection, it collided with truck

number UP21 DT 5237 coming from the front. After the strong collision, the bus

caught fire. Two people on the bus died in the accident, while 24 passengers

were seriously injured. Police and traffic police immediately started relief

and rescue work. All the injured were sent to Joint District Hospital

Balrampur, from where five were referred to Medical College Bahraich as their

condition was serious. After a lot of hard work, the fire brigade team

controlled the fire in the bus and truck.

Due to the accident, traffic on the Phulwaria bypass had to be stopped for

some time. The police cleared both the vehicles and restored the road.

According to eyewitnesses, after the collision there was a loud explosion in

the bus and flames were visible from a distance. It is being told that there

were about 60 to 62 people on board the bus, all of them from Nepal, who were

going from Sunauli to Delhi. The accident took place on the way in Balrampur.

When the incident happened, the passengers saved their lives by breaking the

glass of the bus and jumping out and informed the police.

Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar stated that the collision likely

ignited a fire in the tank, engulfing the entire bus. An investigation is

underway at all angles. Passengers were evacuated from the bus and taken to the

hospital. He added that two deceased were found inside the bus at the scene.

Police have been given necessary instructions.
