
Bijnor, 2 Dec (HS): Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning
in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, a speeding container truck struck a bike and
then collided with a pickup truck. It then spun out of control, broke through a
guardrail, and went on the wrong side of the road. The container overturned on the highway. Three
people, including two bike riders, were killed in the accident. The container
driver fled the scene after the accident.
On receiving information
about the accident on the highway, SP East Dhampur AK Srivastava reached the
spot and started investigating the matter. The accident took place at around 6
am near Mubarakpur Kunda in Sherkot. The container hit both the vehicles, a
bike and a pickup, from the front. The accident was so severe that the bike and
the pickup were badly damaged. Bike riders Ranjeet and Lala, residents of
village Bichvi in Lakhimpur Kheri, died in this accident. The pickup driver
Firoz, a resident of Uttarakhand, also died on the spot. So far, 9 people have
lost their lives on this highway in the last one month. The police have sent
the bodies for post-mortem.
