Awareness and skill certificate distribution prog organized


Lucknow, 2 Dec (HS): In the World AIDS Day program organized in Lucknow,

with the aim of creating awareness among the female family members of police

personnel and making them self-reliant, awareness and skill training

certificate distribution program was held at the Reserve Police Lines. This

program was organized under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Skill

Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India's Jan Shikshan Sansthan,

Gomti Nagar, Lucknow and Reserve Police Lines, Lucknow Commissionerate. On this

occasion, certificates were given to 40 female family members who had received

Assistant Dress Maker and Tailor Advanced Training.

Sharing important information related to HIV/AIDS in the

program, women were made aware that Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) affects

the body's immune system and if left untreated, this infection turns into a

serious stage of AIDS. Unsafe sex, use of infected needles, transfusion of

blood from an infected person and transmission from pregnant to child were said

to be the main reasons for this. Quartermaster Inspector Rajesh Kumar Singh

said in his address that women are the axis of developed India. They should

remain alert and aware of their health and social responsibilities. Through

skill training, women can become self-reliant and make a significant

contribution to the country's economy.

Squadron Leader Namrata Tiwari inspired the women, stating

that the role of women in Indian culture, the upbringing of children, and

character building is incomparable. Sharing her experiences in the Indian Air

Force, she encouraged them to aim high.

Anil Kumar Srivastava, Director of Jan Shikshan Sansthan,

said that in order to promote women empowerment, in the last two years, the

institute has provided training to about 100 women and adolescent families like

Assistant Dress Maker, Beauty Care Assistant and Assistant Computer Operator

and they were also certified by the Government of India. The exhibition of self-made

garments by women was also the centre of attraction in the programme. The

programme was conducted by Pratibha Baliyan, Convenor of Vishwamangalya Sabha

and Head of Varchasva Welfare Society. Principal of Police Modern School Preeti

Verma, Vama Sarathi Family Counselling Centre Officer Meera Yadav, Incharge

Supriya Yadav and other women police personnel were present in the programme.
