Orai, 2 Dec (HS): Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun police took swift
action under Operation Clean during wee hours. The police engaged
in an encounter with notorious criminals from Bihar. Two criminals, Dharmendra
Kumar and Motilal, were shot in the leg. Two other criminals took advantage of
the darkness and escaped. They were later arrested during the encounter.
Superintendent of Police Durgesh Kumar inspected the scene. The injured
criminals were admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
The Konch Kotwali police received information from an informant
that four criminals from a notorious gang from Bihar were roaming the area on
two motorcycles, intending to commit a robbery. Following this, the joint team
intensified checking operations in the area. Meanwhile, when the police attempted
to stop the suspicious motorcycles on the Bhend-Diravati link road in the Konch
Kotwali area, the criminals opened fire. The police returned fire. In this
encounter, two criminals, Dharmendra and Motilal, residents of Begusarai in the
state of Bihar, were arrested.
The first encounter took place on the Bhand-Diravati road in the
Konch Kotwali area, where the SOG/Surveillance and Konch police arrested two
criminals during the encounter. Taking advantage of the darkness, the other two
accomplices escaped. Superintendent of Police Dr. Durgesh Kumar issued
instructions to conduct blockades and intensive checking throughout the
district to catch the two absconding criminals. Meanwhile, late at night, the
control room received information that suspected criminals were speeding
towards Jalaun from the Konch road.
On receiving the information, Jalaun Kotwali and Sirsa Kalar
police laid siege near the power house. After some time, an attempt was made to
stop two youths coming on a motorcycle. On seeing the police, the criminals
started firing several rounds in an attempt to escape. After this, the police
retaliated in self-defense, in which both the criminals fell down after being
shot in the legs. The injured criminals were identified as Sunil Shah and Roshan
Kumar, who are said to be residents of Begusarai district (Bihar). These
criminals were wanted in cases of robbery and burglary in many districts of
Uttar Pradesh.
Police recovered a large quantity of items from the arrested
criminals, including two illegal pistols, two live cartridges, three empty
cartridges, a Pulsar motorcycle, two backpacks, jewelry cleaning equipment, and
chemicals. Gold and silver jewelry obtained through robbery and snatching,
including two rings, four toe rings, two pairs of earrings, a mangalsutra, and
a manchali, were also recovered. This gang of criminals targeted women in urban
and rural areas and committed robbery under the pretext of cleaning jewelry.
Jalaun SP Dr. Durgesh Kumar stated that there is no place for criminals in the
district, and the police will continue their crackdown at a rapid pace. The
vigilance and promptness of the police team led to the capture of four active
criminals from a major gang.
