Kokrajhar (Assam), 17 December (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) region in January, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary said on Wednesday.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the proposed India–Bhutan railway connectivity project from Kokrajhar to Gelephu in Bhutan. The project is expected to strengthen cross-border connectivity and enhance trade and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Sharing details of the proposed itinerary, Hagrama Mohilary said the Prime Minister’s Chirang visit will be a significant milestone for the region, bringing major infrastructure development initiatives and renewed focus on connectivity in Bodoland areas.---------
