Shimla, December 13 (H.S.): BJP national president J P Nadda on Friday alleged that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh is functioning with a carefree and merrymaking mindset, asserting that a “double engine government” is the only way to ensure the state’s development.

Addressing an event here, Nadda accused the state government of corruption and alleged misuse of funds provided by the Centre under various heads, including housing construction, road repairs and smart city projects.

He said the mindset of the Congress government was “Khao Piyo Mauj Karo, aage kisne dekha hai” (indulge in merrymaking; who has seen the future), and described it as an ad-hoc government.

Nadda further claimed that the administrative situation in the state reflected this approach, pointing out that both the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police were holding additional charge, which he said highlighted a lack of seriousness in governance.
