New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): India's largest airline, IndiGo, successfully operated more than 2,000 flights on Saturday, marking the second consecutive day of stabilized operations following a week of disruptions caused by new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) regulations and technical glitches.

The carrier reported steady normalization over the past five days, with all 138 operational destinations connected and on-time performance meeting company standards.

A spokesperson stated that IndiGo is prepared to run over 2,050 flights per the revised schedule, adjusted per government directives. On Friday, December 12, the airline similarly achieved more than 2,000 daily flights. Operational updates show progressive recovery: 1,700 flights on December 8, 1,800 on December 9, 1,900 on December 10, 1,950 on December 11, and 2,050 on December 12, with the same expected today.

The airline attributed just two cancellations on Friday to technical issues, promptly re-accommodating all affected passengers. Focus remains on compensating travelers impacted by earlier widespread disruptions that led to thousands of cancellations.

CEO Pieter Elbers appeared before a high-level government panel for the second day on Friday, alongside Chief Operating Officer Isidro Porqueras, who faced hours of questioning from a four-member DGCA committee. Media reports noted an IndiGo flight's tail striking the runway during an emergency landing at Ranchi Airport, though all passengers remained safe.

IndiGo urged passengers to ignore misinformation about mass cancellations and confirmed instructions to airport partners for updated terminal displays. Serving over 325,000 daily customers, the airline expressed gratitude for continued trust amid the recovery.
