New Delhi, 13 December (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday hailed its unprecedented victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation during Kerala's local body elections as a historic and epochal day for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). For the first time, BJP-NDA secured a clear majority in the corporation, breaking the long-standing dominance of the CPI(M)-led LDF and Congress-led UDF in the region.

Addressing a press conference at party headquarters, BJP national spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi described the win as a pivotal turning point in Kerala politics and a visionary indicator for India's political future. “By divine grace, blessings are showering on BJP and NDA in God's own country,” he declared, emphasizing the mandate as a rejection of traditional rivals.

Trivedi took sharp aim at opposition parties, noting their contradictory alliances — supporting each other in Delhi while contesting against one another in Kerala. “Voters have grown wise and will no longer fall for this pretense of rivalry,” he asserted, questioning where Congress and CPI(M) votes disappeared in constituencies where BJP did not win, despite direct LDF-UDF contests. He accused opponents of misleading voters through fabricated narratives and duplicitous politics, adding that results expose such tactics.

“In areas without BJP presence, where LDF and UDF fought head-to-head, who stole Congress votes? The public never accepts double-faced politics,” Trivedi remarked. The victory in the hometown of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor underscores growing BJP momentum in a state long considered an opposition stronghold.
