Shimla, December 14 (H.S.): BJP national president and Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the party’s new state office here, saying the upcoming facility would infuse fresh energy into the organisation.

The new BJP state office will come up at Majthai near Jubbarhatti Airport in the Shimla Rural Assembly segment, around 29 kilometres from Shimla. Nadda inspected the land earmarked for the project and was briefed in detail about the proposed building plan by state BJP president Rajiv Bindal. He also offered guidance on the structure of the office complex, its functional requirements and future utility.

The foundation stone ceremony was conducted with Vedic chants by five priests and lasted for about 45 minutes. This was followed by the Kalash Sthapana ceremony.

After the event, Nadda interacted with party workers over tea, during which discussions were held on strengthening the organisation and upcoming programmes. Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, state BJP chief Rajiv Bindal, state in-charge Shrikant Sharma, co-in-charge Sanjay Tandon, organisation general secretary Siddharthan, former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, former state BJP president Suresh Kashyap, along with several BJP legislators and leaders, were present on the occasion. Nadda placed the first brick of the new BJP office.

Earlier on Friday night, Nadda visited the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri along with Jai Ram Thakur and Rajiv Bindal, and congratulated Agnihotri on his daughter’s wedding.
