Good Management Key to India’s Growth, Says Governor at AIMS Convention

Bhubaneswar, 11 December (H.S.) Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati on Thursday emphasized that good management, anchored in values and informed by knowledge, has been one of the strongest forces behind national development. He was speaking at the inaugural session of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) Annual Management Convention 2025 at SOA University.

The Governor said it was a privilege to join the convention, describing it as a reflection of India’s commitment to strengthening management education and preparing the next generation of leaders. He welcomed the gathering to Bhubaneswar, noting the city’s emergence as a centre of learning, research, and innovation in Eastern India.

Highlighting the role of education, Dr. Kambhampati said, “Education is the energy that drives societal and economic transformation. It empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and enables the nation to confront challenges with clarity. India’s economic growth in entrepreneurship, industry, services, and technology has been guided by capable leaders whose education prepared them to plan, manage, innovate, and lead.”

The Governor added that management education in India is undergoing a major transformation to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. Institutions are integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, and digital tools, along with emotional intelligence, teamwork, leadership, and ethical thinking, ensuring students are prepared to navigate complex global challenges.

Focusing on Odisha, Dr. Kambhampati said the state is expanding its educational infrastructure, strengthening universities, and building an ecosystem to nurture skilled human capital. He highlighted Odisha’s unique combination of modern ambition and timeless heritage—from its temples and festivals to its natural resources—which provides opportunities for tourism, industry, and innovation.

He also emphasized the vital role of management institutions in shaping India’s future. “As the nation approaches its centenary of independence, nurturing responsible leaders, advancing knowledge, and fostering innovation will guide India toward equitable and sustainable progress,” he said.

Among others, Chairman AICTE, Government of India, Professor T.G. Sitharam, and Convention Director, AIMS Annual Convention 2025, Er. Saroj Kumar Sahu also addressed the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by AIMS Bhubaneswar President Dr. Ramakanta Patra, while Pro-Vice Chancellor of SOA University, Anup Kumar Samantray, proposed the vote of thanks.
