Lucknow,
13 Dec (HS): A policeman hanged himself late Friday night in Baraha Colony,
located in the Alambagh police station area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar
Pradesh. He was married in February and lived in a rented room with his
colleague, Vinod. Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination and
have begun an investigation.
Alambagh
police station in-charge Subhash Chandra Saroj said that his roommate Vinod
informed the police about the incident. On Friday, Balkishan was in his room
during the day, and his family members were constantly trying to contact him.
When his phone went unanswered, the family informed his roommate.
The
station in-charge said that when the roommate went to the room and checked, the
door was locked from inside. When he didn't get a response to his call, he
broke the door and saw Balkishan's body hanging from a noose. He immediately
informed the police. Taking the matter seriously, the police and forensic team
collected evidence from the scene. The police have seized the deceased's mobile
phone and important items from the room and have started the investigation. The
landlord, Rakesh Singh, rents out this room and lives in another part.
According
to the police, Balkishan was previously posted at the Gomti Nagar police
station and had been on duty at the Alambagh police station since 2023. No
suicide note was found at the scene. The family has been informed and further
investigation has been initiated.
