Kolkata, 1 December (H.S.): The Calcutta High Court on Monday directed the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) and other concerned authorities to file detailed reports clarifying their stand on a petition filed by vocational teachers seeking marks for prior teaching experience.
Justice Amrita Sinha instructed the state government and the State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development to submit affidavits on the matter as well. All reports must be filed by December 12, the court said.
The bench informed that the case will be taken up again on December 23. The petitioners have been allowed to file their objections to the reports before the next hearing.
The vocational teachers, who participated in the School Level Selection Test (SLST-2025) for recruitment to classes 9 to 12 in government and aided schools, have argued that their previous teaching experience should be considered in the marking process for selection.
The court is expected to hear the arguments of all parties in the next hearing before taking a view on the matter.
