Chennai, 1 December (H.S.) : The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has sustained its high ridership figures, recording a total passenger footfall of 92.86 lakh in November.

This achievement marks the fifth consecutive month that the city's metro system has surpassed the 90-lakh ridership mark, pushing the average daily footfall closer to the 3.50 lakh threshold.

The data reveals that the highest single-day ridership for the month was recorded on November 10, with 3.60 lakh passengers using the service. In terms of payment methods, 48.48 lakh passengers utilized the Singara Chennai card, while 18.47 lakh opted for QR tokens.

The CMRL noted that the adoption of online and digital ticketing methods continues to gain momentum, largely attributed to promotional efforts such as the 20 percent discount offered on the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
