03 Oct (HS): A shocking case has emerged from Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh.
Police have recovered a married woman, along with her child, alive in Madhya
Pradesh. Two years ago, her family had presumed her dead and filed a dowry
murder case against her husband and six in-laws. The incident occurred in
Padhin Ki Madiya village, in the Kotwali area. Approximately one and a half
years after her marriage, the 20-year-old woman suddenly disappeared from her
in-laws' home under mysterious circumstances. Her family searched extensively
but found no trace of her. Disillusioned, her parents filed a missing person
report on October 23, 2023. After receiving no information for a long time, the
family filed a petition in court, accusing the in-laws of dowry murder.
Following the court's orders, the police filed a case against the husband and
six in-laws and began an investigation.
Considering
the seriousness of the case, the investigation was entrusted to CO City Ashok
Kumar Auraiya. During the investigation, SOG and surveillance team were
deployed. Based on continuous technical efforts and intelligence input, the
location of the woman was found in Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh. The police
showed promptness and raided and recovered the married woman safely. Circle
Officer Sadar Ashok Kumar Singh said that the married woman was missing for
almost two years. During this time, her parents had filed a dowry murder case
against her in-laws. Now the police recovered the woman and brought her to
Auraiya. She is being interrogated and further legal action will be taken after
recording her statement.
