Hooghly, 3 October (H.S.) A shocking incident has emerged from Serampore in Hooghly district during Durga Puja. Allegedly, a police officer, while on duty, became intoxicated and got into an altercation with local residents. He later collapsed on the road in an uncontrollable state. A video of the entire incident has gone viral on social media.

The drunk police officer has been identified as Rajesh Mandal, who serves as Serampore Traffic Inspector.

According to sources, the incident occurred in the Battala area of Serampore. In the viral video, Rajesh Mandal can be seen getting into an argument with a Toto driver. His fellow policemen try to remove him, but he falls on the road in an intoxicated state. His fellow officers then pick him up. However, Hindusthan Samachar does not confirm the authenticity of the video.

It is unclear which day of Durga Puja this incident occurred. There has been no official response from the police administration regarding the matter. According to information received from police sources on Friday, Rajesh Mandal has been closed and the investigation into the case is ongoing.
