Oct (HS): At least 20 people, including two children, were injured as a balloon

gas cylinder exploded during Vijayadashami celebrations in the Raj Mahal area

of Aheri in Gadchiroli district.

The

Vijayadashami celebration tradition in Raj Mahal is over 100 years old.

The blast was very

powerful and could be noticed by people at a long distance.

Former minister

Ambrishrao Atram rushed to the site and enquired about the injured.

The balloon

vendor was using hydrogen gas, which is highly inflammable. Despite

instructions to use helium gas, balloon vendors have been using hydrogen,

posing a potential threat of similar blasts.
