Heavy Rain Lashes Gajapati District; CM Directs Immediate Relief Measures


Bhubaneswar, 3 October (H.S.): Continuous rainfall triggered by a low-pressure system has affected several districts of Odisha, with Gajapati being one of the worst-hit. The downpour has led to rising water levels in rivers, raising concerns of possible inundation in many areas.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has instructed officials to closely monitor the situation and ensure swift relief operations. He has deputed Minister of Mines and Steel, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, to Gajapati district to assess the ground situation and coordinate necessary measures.

The Chief Minister also held discussions with the Gajapati District Collector to review the prevailing conditions and directed the Special Relief Commissioner to immediately provide necessary assistance to the affected areas.
