03 Oct (HS): A 30-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by swallowing
poison here on Friday, police said. She was distressed by harassment from a
family. On September 30, the woman went an extreme step. They stated that a case has been filed against
her relative in this regard. Aarti Devi was married to Mittu Shah of Maurha
village, Nagra police station area, for nine years and had four children. According
to a complaint filed by Aarti's brother, she was routinely harassed over the
phone by Subhjeet, Shah's brother-in-law, which caused her to ingest poison. According
to the complaint, Subhjeet, a resident of Kachhua Rampur hamlet under Dubhar
police station boundaries, has been charged with Section 108 (suicide abetment)
of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Rasra Circle Officer Alok Gupta said police
arrived at the scene after receiving the complaint and transported the body for
post-mortem. He stated that efforts are
being made to apprehend the suspects.
