New Delhi, 09 August (H.S.): Powered by an aggressive knock from Yashas Sharma and impressive bowling performances from Shivam Sharma and Navdeep Saini, Outer Delhi Warriors defeated Central Delhi Kings by 25 runs in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium late Saturday night.

After being put in to bat, Outer Delhi Warriors posted a formidable 216/9 in 20 overs before dismissing Central Delhi Kings for 191 in 17.2 overs.

Yashas Sharma provided the Warriors with a brisk start, scoring 46 off just 25 balls, including four fours and three sixes. His attacking innings laid the foundation for a substantial total.

Central Delhi Kings fought back during the middle overs, with Jonty Sidhu claiming 2/14 and Moni Grewal taking 2/47. However, the Warriors recovered strongly in the final stages of their innings.

Shivam Sharma contributed a quickfire 24 off 10 balls, while Harsh Tyagi also struck 24 from 10 deliveries. Captain Siddhant Sharma then provided the finishing flourish, smashing an unbeaten 19 off just five balls to take his side beyond the 200-run mark.

Yash Dhull Gives Kings Flying Start

Chasing 217, Central Delhi Kings got off to an explosive start through captain Yash Dhull. The right-hander scored 47 off 23 balls, striking six fours and three sixes. Prathan Saluja eventually dismissed Dhull, delivering a crucial blow to the Kings' chase.

Shivam Sharma and Harsh Tyagi then struck at regular intervals to put the Kings under mounting pressure. Shivam finished with three wickets for 37 runs, while Harsh claimed two wickets for 26 runs.

By the 14th over, Central Delhi Kings had slipped to 141/8, leaving their hopes of victory hanging by a thread.

Jasveer Sehwawat, however, launched a remarkable counterattack to bring the contest back to life. He smashed 62 off just 33 balls, with six fours and four sixes. Along with Divij Mehra, who remained unbeaten on two, he added 50 runs for the ninth wicket from only 20 deliveries, briefly reviving the Kings' hopes.

Navdeep Saini eventually ended the partnership by dismissing Sehwawat in the 18th over. Two deliveries later, he claimed another wicket to bring the chase to an end.

Central Delhi Kings were bowled out for 191 in 17.2 overs, handing Outer Delhi Warriors a hard-fought 25-run victory.
