Guwahati, 06 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Assam Police to take strict action against individuals or groups collecting flood relief donations by force on public roads.

The Chief Minister said that no one will be allowed to collect money in the name of flood relief through coercive means. He also warned that people carrying donation boxes or using QR codes to seek contributions from passers-by on roadsides would face legal action if found violating the directive.

The government has made it clear that the practice of collecting donations indiscriminately on roads and public places across Assam will not be permitted and the police have been instructed to enforce the order strictly.-----------
