New Delhi, 06 August (H.S.):
Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu on Thursday said that there is no proposal to blend ethanol with Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). He also stated that spreading misinformation regarding aviation safety creates unnecessary concerns among air passengers.
Ram Mohan Naidu said on Thursday that the claim about the government planning to mix ethanol in aviation fuel is completely false and irresponsible. He clarified that no such proposal is under consideration. The minister said that passenger safety remains the government’s highest priority.
The Union minister further stated that ethanol and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) are entirely different and should not be confused with each other.
He added that SAF is an internationally certified aviation fuel recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and is being adopted globally. It undergoes rigorous testing and complies with stringent international safety standards.
The minister’s statement came in response to a claim made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who had alleged that the government was planning to blend ethanol with aviation fuel.
