
Eluru, Aug 15 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector V Venkateswara Rao of Eluru Rural Police Station unfurled a nearly 100-metre-long Indian Tricolour atop Mount Elbrus in Russia on Saturday to mark Independence Day.
Rao reached the summit of Mount Elbrus at 8 a.m. on Saturday (IST) and unfurled the Tricolour at an altitude of 5,642 metres. Mount Elbrus is the highest peak in Europe.
He also sang the national anthem at the summit to mark the occasion and expressed his patriotism.
Rao dedicated the achievement to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
