New Delhi, 14 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday called for strengthening the spirit of national solidarity on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, saying that perseverance and determined effort are what shape one's destiny.

In a post on X on Thursday morning, the Prime Minister paid heartfelt tribute to all citizens who endured the horrors of Partition and subsequently made invaluable contributions to the country's progress. He said their courage and resilience demonstrated how determination can prevail even in the face of the most difficult circumstances.

“On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, I pay my heartfelt tribute to all those countrymen who, after emerging from that horrific period, made invaluable contributions to the progress of the nation. Through their courage and strength, they showed how resolutions can be fulfilled even in adverse circumstances. Let us further strengthen the national spirit of goodwill and unity,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit subhashitam:

“उद्यमस्य प्रसादेन दृश्यन्ते विविधाः कलाः। कातरा एव जल्पन्ति यद् भाव्यं तद् भविष्यति॥”

Explaining the verse on his X account, PM Modi said that diverse arts, sciences, technological skills, crafts and innovations develop through hard work, enterprise and determined effort, thereby opening the path to success.

He emphasised that people should not simply leave their future to fate but should move towards their goals with courage, dedication and sustained effort, because perseverance and purposeful action are what shape destiny.
