Islamabad/Surab, 12 August (H.S.): Serious allegations have emerged over an alleged Pakistani airstrike in the Surab area of Balochistan province. In a statement issued by The Republic of Balochistan, the group claimed that the Pakistan Air Force carried out bombing in civilian areas of the Gudar locality of Surab, allegedly killing more than 30 people and injuring dozens of others.

The statement alleged that civilians, including women and children, were among those killed in the reported attack. The organisation further claimed that the Pakistani Army and Air Force carried out extensive bombing and firing in Surab and surrounding areas, causing casualties and damage to civilian property.

The organisation also alleged that injured civilians were taken into custody by security forces and that local residents and authorities were prevented from carrying out relief and rescue operations. It further claimed that hospitals were surrounded by military personnel and that doctors were subjected to pressure.

Citing local residents, the group claimed that drones and Cobra gunship helicopters were seen patrolling the area. It also alleged that internet services had already been suspended and claimed that some people died because injured civilians could not receive timely medical treatment.

The Republic of Balochistan called on the international community to take cognisance of the reported incident and intervene to protect the lives and fundamental rights of Baloch civilians.

However, the allegations could not be independently verified immediately.

Surab and neighbouring areas have witnessed reports of security operations and violent incidents in recent months. In July 2026, the Pakistani military claimed that 10 suspected militants were killed during operations in Surab and Mastung.
