
New Delhi, 11 August (H.S.): Proceedings of the Delhi Legislative Assembly were adjourned till 2 PM on Tuesday amid repeated disruptions on the final day of the Monsoon Session. The uproar prevented the House from conducting its business smoothly.
The sitting of the Assembly began at 11 AM on Tuesday. The listed agenda included special mentions by members under Rule 280, consideration and passage of various Bills, and a discussion on a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
The House was scheduled to consider and pass the Delhi Bed and Food Establishments (Repeal) Bill, 2026; the Delhi Citizens’ Time-Bound and Ease of Service Delivery (Right) Bill, 2026; and the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The Monsoon Session has witnessed repeated confrontations between members of the ruling party and the Opposition over several issues. The session, which commenced on August 7, is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, August 11.
The Assembly also witnessed disruptions on Monday, following which six Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were removed from the House amid the uproar.
On the opening day of the Monsoon Session, proceedings were similarly adjourned for 15 minutes following disruptions over allegations of irregularities in the health sector.
The latest adjournment reflects the continuing friction between the treasury benches and the Opposition, even as the House enters the final day of its scheduled Monsoon Session.
