Bhubaneswar, 01 August (H.S.) : In a move to ensure hassle-free and cashless healthcare services for beneficiaries, the State Government, through the State Health Assurance Society (SHAS), conducted a seven-day intensive orientation programme for empanelled hospitals under ABPMJAY-GJAY and the PM-RAHAT scheme.
A total of 779 empanelled private hospitals from all 30 districts participated in the training, held in batches and concluding on Friday. The programme focused on key aspects such as cashless treatment delivery, compliance with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), timely claim processing, and establishment of help desks.
Addressing participants, SHAS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Brundha D. stressed the need to ensure seamless and dignified treatment for beneficiaries holding ABPMJAY-GJAY and AVVY cards. She also directed hospitals to prioritise free treatment for road accident victims under the PM-RAHAT scheme, as per government guidelines. She warned that negligence or delays in service delivery would invite strict action.
The sessions covered pre- and post-hospitalisation benefits, timelines for patient registration and pre-authorisation, grievance redressal through online systems, and efficient claim management. Hospitals were informed that valid pre-authorisation requests would be approved within a maximum turnaround time of six hours.
Detailed guidance was also provided on the PM-RAHAT scheme, under which road accident victims are entitled to cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh within seven days of the incident, provided they are admitted within 24 hours.
Hospitals were further advised to integrate their systems with the ABDM platform to enable seamless digital healthcare services, improve patient care, and streamline claim processing.
Senior officials including Additional Secretary and Joint CEO SHAS Ratnakara Sahoo, Additional Director Dr. Bishnu Prasad Mohapatra, and other experts conducted the training sessions.
