
Bhubaneswar, 01 August (H.S.) : In a bid to strengthen cooperative institutions and accelerate rural economic growth, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Cooperation, visited Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) in Odisha’s Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts.
During his visit to Shree Jagannath FSCS in Cuttack, Bansal, along with Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Odisha Manish Agrawal, reviewed key aspects such as credit delivery, business diversification, operational efficiency, and future strategies to enhance the role of cooperatives. Senior district officials, including Cuttack Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde, were present.
In Dhenkanal, Bansal inspected Gengutia PACS, assessing its diversified activities including consumer services, LPG distribution, fertilizer and seed supply, and paddy procurement. He emphasized strengthening infrastructure and expanding farmer-centric services through innovative models.
The visit also included a high-level review with senior officials to chart future strategies for PACS development, aligning with the vision of “Sahakar Se Samriddhi” (prosperity through cooperation).
