
Leh, 08 July (H.S.): On the solemn occasion of the 27th Anniversary of Op VIJAY in the series of commemorative outreach, reaffirming its unwavering commitment towards the welfare of the people and strengthening the enduring bond between the Armed Forces and the local community, the Top Gun Brigade of “Forever in Operations Division” of the Indian Army organised Mega Medical Camps at Village Hanuyokma, Village Mughalpura & Village Sankoo from 01 to 07 Jul 2026. The Medical Camps were organised with support from Civil Administration and Medical Departments of Khaltsi, Kargil and Drass Districts. Special assistance was provided by M/s Metro Zone Health Services (India) Pvt Ltd, wherein medicines in bulk for Shishu Kalyan Yojna were provided by Mr Rajnish Jaiswal. In coordination with District Administration Kargil. The humanitarian initiative witnessed an overwhelming response from the local population with more than 2,500 villagers benefiting from comprehensive healthcare services provided free of cost.
Organised with the objective of extending quality healthcare to residents of far flung villages, where access to specialised medical facilities remains limited, the Mega Medical Camps benefitted 250 Pregnant Women and 2500 other beneficiaries from different corners of the remote areas of Hanuyokma, Hanuthang, Shakar, Chiktan, Achinathang, Pandras, Matayen, Dras, Mughalpura, Trespone, Saliskote, Farona, Lankarchey, Malikbar, Nagma, Sangrah and Sankoo. It brought together highly qualified medical professionals with 13 experienced specialist doctors deployed at each location, supported by dedicated Nursing Assistants, who worked tirelessly throughout the day to ensure that every patient received timely consultation, diagnosis and treatment.
The Mega Medical Camps offered a wide spectrum of healthcare services encompassing General Medicine, Orthopedics, Gynocology, Pediatrics, Opthalmology, Dental Care, Pain Management and Physiotherapy. In addition, Specialist Psychological Counselling services were provided to individuals requiring emotional and mental health support. Patients underwent detailed medical examinations and consultations across various specialities, enabling the early detection and management of common as well as chronic illnesses. Medical advice, counselling and preventive healthcare education formed an integral part of the initiative, empowering villagers with the knowledge required to lead healthier lives.
A major highlight of the initiative was the collaboration with M/s Metro Zone Health Services (India) Pvt Ltd, whose invaluable support significantly enhanced the quality and reach of medical services. Through this partnership, beneficiaries received free medicines without any financial burden. Every patient requiring medication was provided with the prescribed medicines free of cost, ensuring continuity of treatment and immediate relief for those suffering from various ailments.
